<Forbes: Personal items that once belonged to Al Capone, the Prohibition-era crime boss billed as “Public Enemy No.1,” sold for more than $3.1 million during a private auction on Friday, including his purported favorite gun, jewelry and family heirlooms.
The auction’s most expensive item was a Colt .45 semi automatic pistol, Capone’s favorite gun according to auction house Witherell’s of Sacramento, which fetched a price of $1,040,600 including a buyer’s premium.
The lot included luxurious accessories worn by Capone, who was known for his bold style, like a platinum and diamond Patek Philippe pocket watch featuring his initials, a stick pin with diamonds, pearls and sapphires and a white gold and diamond matchbook cover.
